Culdesac Tempe: Courtyard Housing System + Architecture

For Culdesac we designed a unique multifamily courtyard housing types system with seven core, 2-3 story buildings with no more than eight units per building that are thoughtfully composed within each block to create a network of semi-private courtyard spaces.

The architecture is purposefully simple, serving as fabric buildings that have a primary role of defining and activating the public spaces.

The unit sizes range from 685 to 1200 square feet. Bookable (hourly/daily) spaces such as studio units for guest and flex working spaces are are distributed throughout the buildings and plan to enhance a comfortable, small-living lifestyle.
